Charmed and New Tutorial!

I've had fun creating charm bracelets last week. I've been collecting pendants and charms (vintage ones) for about 2 years now, not really knowing what I was going to do with them (as is often the way for me...I flit from phase to phase without really much direction, just testing out my ideas etc). Then one day, it just hit me: charm bracelets! It was so simple really :) So, I created a brass one, a silver one and a copper one. The brass one and the silver one were snapped up very early on, so now just the copper one is available. I've called it "Bohemiana" as it reminds me of the Bohemian era in the '60s and '70s.

Well cool! Here's "Bohemiana" for your viewing pleasure:

I spent all day yesterday (and I mean ALL DAY - it took me 12 hours!) creating my first tutorial for sale - it's a tutorial for the "Sparkle of the Sea" paua pendants. It consists of 21 pages, over 50 photographs and blood, sweat and tears on my part! The tutorial is great value for NZ$10 and is available on my website for instant download if you have Paypal or want to use your credit card (or I will email it to you if you want to pay by bank transfer instead). I'm really excited about it! I've also added it to Etsy, for abit of exposure.

Here's the pendant I created with this tutorial:

Well, time for bed - more later...

Flu bugs - nasty

Sorry for lack of an update recently - I've been struck down by a nasty flu bug (no, not a headcold, INFLUENZA!! Definately a difference). I spent a week in bed, feeling miserable and completely helpless, then last week I went back to work, but basically spent any hours outside of work sleeping...not good for the creative juices!

I almost totally missed out on Fibre and Fleece, the festival extravaganza, which really made me angry as I'd been so looking forward to it. I managed to make it along to the fashion show on Saturday, but only really as I had tickets and my cousin from Auckland had come down for the weekend especially for it. The fashion show was fantastic, but any plans I had to visit the exhibition (which my handbag was displayed at) and the craft halls on the Sunday went right out the window, as I was feeling so exhausted from my outing to the fashion show on Saturday (after spending the week in bed, this was a BIG THING for me!) I couldn't quite muster the energy required :(

It's pouring with rain here now, and we have a heavy rain warning out for the weekend, so I'm hoping that I can muster up some energy (after sorting out the housework!) to do something creative this weekend. I'd still rather be in bed....!

Hopefully more new items will be added over the coming week :)
