I'm finally getting on top of my list of custom orders - yay! It's been alot of fun (and with more than a few challenges along the way, it's certainly kept my brain working!), and I'm also happy to be seeing some sort of progress happening with my "to do" list. Finally!
The day job's been busy of late, due to staffing changes, but our little team is coping rather well. Have been doing extra hours here and there, so beading time is at a premium lately!
Stu (friend from Wellington) is due to arrive tomorrow for a few days visit, so that's always fun! Not sure what we'll get up to, but the kids are really looking forward to seeing him so no doubt they'll keep us entertained!
The kids have been on holidays last week and this week, and Willie's not yet tearing his hair out (he's home looking after them), but I do get the feeling that he'll be heading back to work next week for a rest :)
On the beading front, I've been buying up large on gemstones recently, to turn into gorgeous sterling silver wirewrapped pendants and rings, so that's satisfied the magpie in me! Just need to find the time to set them now...eventually.
I'm also gearing up for my first Waiotahi Country Market for the year, which will be on the second Saturday morning in November. Should be great - can't wait to catch up with everyone out there! I haven't done a market since this time last year, so it's a nice change of pace for me.
What else have I been up to? Well my bead swap group, which we've named "Beadhive Diva's" (!!) is gearing up for another bead swap challenge, so that's going to be fun. I love a challenge! And our "Year of Jewellery" challenge theme this month is "wings". I was in dire straits about this one at first, but thankfully inspiration has now hit me and I'm waiting on my supplies to arrive so I can get busy on that soon.
I'm in the throes of creating a special webpage for our "Beadhive Diva's" group, so will post the link here when it's done. It will replace my Flickr page, and it means that everyone who is involved in the YOJ challenges and the Bead Swaps can post their own pics, which will take a wee bit of pressure off me. Everyone can still view our pics though, so never fear!
And here's a pic of a bracelet I finished on the weekend that I am yet to post for sale on my site - it's a gorgeous colour (red/orange), I just love it!
